Live Actions: Mineki Murata and John G. Boehme

Please join us on Thursday, October 10, 2019, 7-9pm for a evening of performance art featuring Mineki Murata (Japan), and John G. Boehme (Canada). Murata is visiting Victoria after performing at the LIVE! Vancouver Performance Art Biennial October 1-6. Each artist will present an independent performance action in the gallery.
The event is taking place in the context of the exhibition DOING THINGS 'n STUFF: An accumulation of actions, relics, recent work, and more from John G. Boehme at Open Space, Sep 13 - Oct 12, 2019. 

Born and raised on an Alberta farm, Donna's art reveals the work ethic of her upbringing, which was, and remains, hard work; not being afraid of getting your hands dirty; and, enjoying what you are doing.

Cecile studied for and earned her BFA at the University of Manitoba School of Art and obtained her Master of Science degree from the U of M Faculty of Human Ecology. Her master's thesis was published as a monograph by the Canadian Museum of Civilization.

Holly King is an artisit from Montreal, Quebec and has exhibited internationally for over 30 years. Her artwork is photo-based.

Brenda Francis Pelkey was born in Kingston, Ontario, in 1950. She studied art at Sir Sanford Fleming College of Applied Arts and Technology and Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario.

Miles Lowry is a visual artist, writer, composer and director. He has been exhibiting paintings and sculptures in solo and group exhibitions since 1981.

David Ferguson is a writer, painter, and producer of dance and film. As a Founding Artistic co-Director of Suddenly Dance Theatre (1992-present) in Victoria, B.C. he has been a producer/curator of numerous collaborative, multi-media projects and dance productions, including the annual Romp!

Japanese musician, singer and visual artist now living in Montréal, Canada.
