Music of David A. Jaffe: Lafayette String Quartet, Andrew Schloss, Scott MacInnes, Trimpin, and guests

Friday, November 8, 2013, 8:00 pm

Music of David A. Jaffe
Admission: $15 general; $10 students, seniors, and members
On Friday, November 8, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., The Lafayette String Quartet, Andrew Schloss, Scott MacInnes, Trimpin, and others came together to perform a selection of works by David A. Jaffe. This versatile composer’s compositions range from the acoustic to the electronic. The concert encompassed a broad spectrum of Jaffe’s output from the old time fiddle-inspired Cluck Old Hen Variations to the Canadian premiere of The Space Between Us for radio drum, two string quartets, piano, and robotic percussion designed by Seattle’s Trimpin, who returned to Open Space to install the robotic instrument to the ceiling. Also on this concert, The Lafayette String Quartet presented the world premiere of the newly commissioned string quartet Fox Hollow.
