Large-scale wall drawings explore the possibilities of the contemporary practice, performance, and the idea of drawing.
Over the next two months, Wendy Hough (Vancouver, BC) will be participating in a public installation and gallery exhibition creating a new work in an ongoing series of large-scale Wall Drawings. From April 23 to May 16, Hough will be on site developing the work for presentation at a public reception on Friday, May 17, 7:30 p.m.
This new work is part of an ongoing series of interdisciplinary projects that Hough describes as an exploration of public performance and audience engagement. The drawing will remain on display until June 11, when the artist will return to Victoria to wash away the drawing as part of the overall process.
Join us on Friday, April 26, at 7:00 p.m. for a special introductory reception to help us welcome Hough to Victoria. Drop by Open Space during regular gallery hours, Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 5:00 p.m., to experience the ever-changing transformation of the space by the artist’s unique process.
