Open-Ended: Conversations About Art Practice

Date: February 24, 2007

Artists: Judith Price (Camosun), Wendy Welch (Vancouver Island School of Art), Maureen Bradley (University of Victoria), Lylu Fawn (musician/ visual artist) and Farheen HaQ (independen video artist and educator)

Host: Betsy Nuse

Open Space hosted a discussion with five contemporary Victoria artists who discussed the intimate and public adventures of their artistic practices.

Prior to the conversation there was a lunch, during which the artists screen various works.

The event was recorded by MediaNet for broadcast on CFUV, and television broadcast on the SHAW community channel, as well as web-pod-casting.

The event stimulated critical discourse around artistic practice and the situation for contemporary artists.
