Living Song: Julia Ulehla
Sunday, March 31st from 11am-12:30pm, Open Space presents Living Song, a free workshop with Julia Ulehla taking place at City Studios (711 Douglas Street).
Offered in conjunction with a concert of her project Dálava at Hermann's Jazz Club (March 30th), singer, ethnomusicologist and former member of the Grotowski Workcenter (Italy) Julia Ulehla will lead a workshop that explores traditional song as a site of knowledge and relation-making. She will explore aspects of structure and improvisation, tradition and innovation, flow states, and the creativity and integrity of human-as-performer. She encourages participants to come with songs of their own, ready to sing, learn new songs, and work!
This workshop is free and open to the public. Please RSVP through the following Eventbrite link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/julia-ulehla-living-song-part-of-the-sounding-space-workshop-series-tickets-59443100915
