Raj Sen Named Acting Executive Director of Open Space Arts Society
 
Victoria, BC - The interim Board of Directors of Open Space Arts Society today announced the appointment of Raj Sen as Acting Executive Director of the artist-run centre located in Victoria beginning June 1 2018, for a one year term.
 
Raj Sen has spent the last five years working in the international contemporary art world, most recently as Director of the Singapore branch of Sundaram Tagore Gallery. He has worked as a project manager for exhibitions at the Bangkok Arts & Culture Centre and the Ayala Museum in Manila and in 2015 helped realize a successful Collateral Event at the 56th Venice Biennale. Raj spent the majority of his youth in B.C., including studying History in Art at the University of Victoria.
 
“Raj has demonstrated the skills necessary to manage the organization through its current period of transition and put it on stable footing and we are grateful that he has agreed to join the team at Open Space,”  said Charles Campbell, Chair of the Open Space interim Board of Directors.
 
Established in 1972, Open Space is a not-for-profit multidisciplinary artist-run centre located at 510 Fort Street (second floor) in downtown Victoria.

Open Space respectfully acknowledges that we are on unceded First Nations territory. The City of Victoria and the surrounding areas lie on the territories of the Lekwungen and Coast Salish peoples, including the Esquimalt, Songhees, and W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations.
Open Space is not wheelchair accessible and is accessed by a flight of 15 stairs. There are two gender inclusive washrooms, one multi-stall and one single stall with a urinal.
