Tanya Doody- Impressions Formation

Tanya Doody- Impressions Formation

“Clay and gestures are loaded with potential. I’m trying to get away from the permanence of them.”

Victoria artist Tanya Doody intertwines craftivist strategies, performative acts, and poetic gestures. Doody explored clay’s capacity to document fleeting impressions, whether human communication or non-human histories.

During her residency, Doody extended her study of the social dimensions of ceramics. She has proposed a series of impressions taken from the fatigued surfaces of Open Space’s interior examining the building’s physical and social histories.
