Location:
Open Space, 510 Fort St. 2nd Floor

On Sunday March 12, 2017 @ 2:30 p.m.  – Join us at Open Space with Vancouver Inter-Cultrual Orchestra’s composer in residence, Farshid Samandari.  We will be talk about the ins and outs of writing music for accordion. Farshid Samandari will join us via skype to talk about how to approach scoring music for this instrument. This will be an interactive presentation with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Writing for Accordion is a great opportunity for those who would like to write music for accordion. The presentation is also highly recommended for those interested in writing sketches and pieces to be workshopped by accordionist Erica Roozendaal during her visit to Victoria in June 2017.  Erica Roozendaal performs frequently and will be a valuable resource for those looking at writing New Music for accordion. More information about Roozendaal’s Victoria workshop will be available early April at www.openspace.ca

Further workshop opportunities in Vancouver with Roozendaal and other instrumentalists will be occurring this summer at the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra’s Summer Academy. More information available at: http://vi-co.org/education/vico-summer-academy/
This presentation and Roozendaal’s upcoming concert and workshop in Victoria are presented in collaboration with the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra.
