Amalie Atkins

Biography: 

Amalie Atkins is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Saskatoon, SK. Her short films, photographs, and installations feature costumes and props designed by the artist to propel a fictional world into everyday life. Atkins' films have been shown locally at Antimatter Film Festival, was well as across Canada in places such as WNDX film festival (Winnipeg), Film Pop (Montreal), and Continental Drift Film Festival (St John). The artist recently exhibited in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art's exhibit, Oh, Canada. Atkins' work has been presented at the Textile Museum of Canada (Toronto) and The Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatoon), and is currently featured in the exhibition, They Made a Day Be a Day Here, which is traveling across the prairies. Her work will be the subject of a major exhibition and book organized by the Mackenzie Art Gallery in January 2014.
